The jailbreak community was surprised once again yesterday by the release of a jailbreak that was only for Mac users. It is called PP Jailbreak and is to allow Mac users to jailbreak iOS 8.1.2, in the absence of an update to the Taig utility. This is the third time in less than a year that the community has been faced with a new jailbreak team and all three have come from China, leading to speculation that Chinese hackers are taking over the jailbreak scene.

While the utility is available for download now, we are still waiting for some confirmation from more well-known developers that it is, in actual fact, safe to use. A handful of users have already tested it and said it seems to work ok but the developers will look deep inside the code to see if anything is hidden that perhaps shouldn’t be.
Supported Devices :
PP Jailbreak will work on all versions of iOS 8-8.1.2 and on Mac OS X 10.7 and higher. It offers support for all iOS 8 compatible devices:
- iPod Touch 5
- iPad 2,3,4
- iPad Mini, Mini 2, Mini 3
- iPad Air, Air 2
- iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus
In the absence of any official confirmation that PP Jailbreak is safe to use, we would urge caution in downloading and installing it. We will not take on any responsibility nor any liability should any issues arise as a result of using this jailbreak, whether the problem is on your Mac or on your iOS device.
For those who do want to install it, we have produced a full download and installation tutorial for you to follow. Please ensure that you follow the instructions carefully as failure to do so may result in problems that require a restore, thus losing all the data on your device. The jailbreak is only available in the Chinese language at the moment but there should be an English version in the near future.
Let us know how you get on with the jailbreak.
