PP Team working on iOS 9 Jailbreak

After iOS 8.4.1 was released, it was really surprising to see that Apple had released a new iOS firmware just before the launch iOS 9. After this unexpected move, everybody had its eyes fixed on the PP team. With the news that TaiG, Pangu, and Keen teams were working on iOS 9 jailbreak [ext link], it is highly unlikely that the PP team would not get into the competition. Though no concrete news has come out from the PP team’s side, we are pretty sure that they are working on an iOS 9, or perhaps, an iOS 9.1 jailbreak [ext link].

All these rumors direct us towards preparing for the iOS 8.4.1 release. In this article, we will list down a few important things that you need to do before the release of iOS 8.4.1 to keep your iOS 8.4 device jailbroken until a new working pp jailbreak is released for iOS 8.4.1 or the forthcoming iOS 9.

1. Do a Fresh Restore

restore in progress

There is nothing better for your device than a fresh restore. A fresh restore of iOS 8.4 is a good thing to do even if you are not going to jailbreak your device any time soon, as your device will still retain the ability to jailbreak whenever you wish to. For your device to retain its jailbreaking ability and to give out maximum performance, it is recommended that you do a last fresh restore right before the signing window for iOS 8.4 is closed.

2. Save Your Blobs

You must never underestimate the importance of saving your SHSH blobs. It is crucial for all the iOS 8.4 devices right now, as the firmware is still in signing. Even though there is no successful way right now to downgrade to any modern firmware, there is a possibility that a method will surely come out at some time. Saving your SHSH blobs will ensure that you will be able to downgrade smoothly. Those who don’t save their blobs won’t be able to downgrade if a working method is found.

3. Install Cydia Impactor

Until now, if you wanted to unjailbreak your iOS device, you would have to restore to a newer iOS version with iTunes. But Cydia Impactor, a new cool tool, gives you the power to restore your iPhone back to stock without having to use iTunes and upgrading to a newer firmware. This will be helpful in case you want to get your iPhone repaired or if you want to sell it but want it to retain the ability to jailbreak.

 About Latest Jailbreak Scenario :

There was an uproar in the jailbreak community when iOS 8.4.1 was released to patch the jailbreak exploits in iOS 8.4. This harsh move by Apple had left iOS unjailbroken and since then, iOS users are still waiting for the next jailbreak to come up soon. In terms of jailbreaking, iOS 8 was one of the most loved iOS firmwares, as there were PP and TaiG jailbreak tools for Mac and Windows and the jailbreaks were smooth as ever.

Team PP had been the centre of controversies in the iOS 8 jailbreak scenario. The team had released the iOS 8.3 jailbreak right after the TaiG team, and came out with an iOS 8.4 jailbreak before the TaiG team. This was followed by the TaiG team accusing PP for stealing its exploits. However, PP team was the first to come up with a Mac-compatible jailbreak tool, which made the whole jailbreak community to believe that the PP team was as talented as TaiG and Pangu.

If you have not yet jailbroken or if you are still on iOS 8.4.1 , then this is your last chance to stay on iOS 8.4.1 and get the jailbreak. The bottom line ? Jailbreakers, stay away from iOS 9 !

  1. Hi PP jailbreak team!

since I have ios 8, I use your tools to jailbreak my phone. then, i had a problem with cydia about one month ago and I had to reboot it and go with ios 9 which I downgraded right after to ios 8.4.1…
Anyways, I really want to jailbreak my phone again, and really hope you guys will come up with a new jailbreak. I love your team and good luck!

  2. Please pp release JB for 8.4.1. I know you have the jailbreak and you dont have to worry about taig flashing those confrontations.
    Please we need it.

  3. I had the ipad mini on ios 8.1.2 and i jailbroke it with pp. the screen fell off of it and i lost it. by the time i found it, i forgot my password:(. so then my iphone (still on 7.0.6) was coming out with software updates 8.1.3-8.4 but i didnt update it or jailbreak it. (i dont trust evasi0n) i didnt update bc i didnt have enough space. so then i heard about ios 9 and i said to myself, “apple is beefing up security and i had no choice but to update to 8.4.1 while i still could! So i got 8.4.1 just in time (the night they stopped signing it), and much to my disappointment, pp only ran 8.1.3-8.4. So ive been researching CONSTANTLY for the past week and still no update except yalu which i dont trust. You guys gotta update us or something cause, like most of the community, we are getting VERY ansy!!! thank you for all your hard work

  4. If they keep jailbreakIng even the patched firmwares, they re going to end up running out of vulnerabilities since Apple patched them after they re discovered. I d rather anyone who has a jailbreak for 8.4.1 try their exploits on 9 and if they are not patched, then wait for that to come out before releasing. Not worth burning the exploits on 8.4.1 if they work on 9 when it is only a few weeks away.

  5. Cmon somebody, I’m still on the 8.4.1 firmware and would love a untethered jailbreak for my iPod touch 6g. Don’t wanna upgrade seeming this brings optimal performance on my iDevice & have no need any additional features on iOS 9
